1. General Provisions

1.1 Introduction & Ownership

"CinemaHub," "CinemaHub App," and "CinemaHub Barcode Scanner" are proprietary software products owned, developed, and operated by ALJEM TECHNOLOGIES-SMC LTD ("ALJEM"). All associated logos, brand marks, designs, source code, and intellectual property are the exclusive property of ALJEM. Unauthorized reproduction, reverse engineering, or distribution of these assets is strictly prohibited.

1.2 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or accessing any part of the CinemaHub ecosystem (including the User App via Google Play/App Store, the Barcode Scanner App, or the Administration Portals), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of our services.

1.3 Connectivity Requirement

CinemaHub App requires a stable internet connection to function. It is your sole responsibility to ensure your device is connected to the internet before performing critical actions such as signing up, browsing content, or making payments. ALJEM is not liable for transaction failures, lost data, or inability to access tickets caused by user connectivity issues or ISP outages.

1.4 Jurisdiction & Compliance

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. ALJEM reserves the right to suspend or ban any content (including movies) that violates local laws or directives issued by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) or other relevant government bodies.


2. Terms for App Users (Moviegoers)

2.1 Account Creation & Security
  • Registration: Use of the CinemaHub App requires a registered account via email or phone number.
  • One Account Policy: To prevent fraud and spam, users are strictly limited to one account per verified mobile number/email. Automated account creation (bots) will result in an immediate permanent ban of the user's IP address and device ID.
  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your One-Time Password (OTP) and login credentials. ALJEM is not liable for any loss arising from shared or stolen credentials.
  • Data Accuracy: You warrant that the contact information provided (Email/Phone) is accurate. Providing false information may result in the inability to receive critical assets like Ticket QR codes.
2.2 Movie Listings & Content

Movies listed on the App are selected and scheduled by our partner Cinemas, not ALJEM. While we strive for accuracy, ALJEM does not guarantee the availability or quality of any specific movie. We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates our content guidelines or legal standards.

2.3 Location Services

To provide relevant showtimes, the App requires access to your device's location services to display cinemas nearest to you. By enabling this, you consent to the processing of your location data for this specific purpose.

2.4 Payments & Refunds
  • Digital Payments: All transactions are processed digitally via third-party providers (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Flutterwave, Visa).
  • No Refund Policy: Once a ticket is successfully purchased, it is non-refundable unless a technical error occurs on our end.
  • Race Conditions: In the event you pay for a seat that was simultaneously booked by another user, the App will prompt you to select alternative seats of equal value without an additional charge.
  • Payment Security: ALJEM never stores your mobile money PIN or bank card details. These are handled exclusively by secure third-party payment gateways.
  • Fraud: Any detected fraudulent activity (e.g., chargebacks, hacked accounts) will result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement.
2.5 Ticket Usage & Entry
  • Delivery: Tickets are generated digitally within the App and a copy is sent to your registered email.
  • Scanning: Entry is granted only upon successful scanning of your QR code by the official "CinemaHub Barcode Scanner" App at the venue. A ticket is valid for a single scan only.
  • Validity: Tickets expire automatically upon the conclusion of the specific showtime purchased.
  • Right of Admission: The Cinema reserves the right to deny entry at their discretion (e.g., late arrival, age restrictions). ALJEM is not liable for denial of entry by the venue.
2.6 User Conduct

Users may manage their profile and submit feedback or support tickets via the in-app Live Chat. Abusive language, harassment of support staff, or misuse of the support system will result in account termination.


3. Terms for Cinema Partners

3.1 Application & Listing
  • Approval Process: Listing on CinemaHub App is by application only via cinemahubapp.com. ALJEM reserves the absolute right to approve or reject applications at its discretion.
  • Inspection: Approved applicants must undergo a physical inspection of their premises by ALJEM representatives.
  • Compliance: Cinemas must submit verified copies of their Certificate of Incorporation, Trading License, TIN Number, and Settlement Bank Account details before activation.
3.2 Content & Management
  • Accuracy: Cinemas are solely responsible for the accuracy of their movie schedules, seat layouts, pricing, and location data displayed on the App.
  • Portal Access: ALJEM provides a web-based Administration Portal for cinemas to manage their operations. Cinemas agree to use this portal responsibly and keep their login credentials secure.
  • Standards: ALJEM reserves the right to suspend or terminate the contract of any cinema that displays harmful content, violates ALJEM's quality standards, or engages in fraudulent activities (e.g., money laundering).
3.3 Financials & Settlements
  • Commission: ALJEM charges a percentage commission on every ticket sold via the platform, as agreed upon in the signed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Settlements: Revenue (minus commission) is accumulated in the Cinema's digital wallet on the portal. Settlements to the Cinema's bank account are initiated by the Cinema Manager.
  • Processing Times: Settlements are subject to bank processing times (typically 24-72 hours). Cinemas are encouraged to request settlements at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Frozen Funds: In the event of contract termination due to fraud or violation of terms, any funds remaining in the digital wallet may be frozen pending investigation.
3.4 Liability

Cinemas agree to indemnify ALJEM against any claims arising from show cancellations, venue safety issues, or denial of entry to valid ticket holders.
